Mi pare che questo argomento non sia ancora stato affrontato qui, ma leggere questa "notizia" mi ha sconvolta, d'altra parte cosa aspettarsi da un'azienda talmente senza scrupoli da vendere libri o dell'altro, penso, per pedofili????"!!!!
Praticamente si dice che il sito Amazon vende DVD di combattimenti di galli e cani! e dà consigli di quali siano le razze più adatte, di come addestrarli eccetera!!

Media Sold on Amazon
If you do a quick search on Amazon.com using the key words “dogfighting” or “cockfighting” you will see the large e-commerce site has a number of books and DVDs available on those subjects. A DVD called CockFighters is one of the first products that displays for the key word “cockfighting.” Some of the user reviews are glowing and even advocate for the public to view it in order to shift public perception about the barbaric practice.
The first review says, “This documentary tells the story of some of the worlds top cockfighters and how they came to be so great. You will not see the “bloody and brutal” fights that certain groups will lead you to believe that goes on. Instead, it gives you an inside look of how these cockers raise these birds to do what they were born to do. ”
Of course, fighting to the death wearing razor sharp pieces of metal is not at all natural for roosters. Nor is there anything great about raising animals to harm or destroy each other. Sometimes the chickens are injected with steroids to elevate their already artificially-created aggression even more. Cockfighting is illegal in the United States, and PETA has recently written a letter to Amazon asking them to stop selling media informing the public how to practice cockfighting and dogfighting, which is also illegal.
PETA executive Tracy Reiman wrote, “Animals, like children, depend on us to protect them and put their best interests above profits. Please, don’t be complicit in cruelty to animals. Do the right thing and stop selling products that promote criminal violence against living beings.”
A book Amazon sells on dogfighting offers instruction on how to select, breed and manage fighting dogs. A user review for it says, “This book describes dog fighting, details the rules of dog fighting, shows pictures of dog fighting, and glorifies famous fighting dogs. ” Another book on cockfighting called The Breeding and Management of Fighting Cocks has a slew of negative reviews from people protesting its presence on the site. One user review, which 8 out of 10 people found helpful, says “I’ve spent hundreds of dollars using Amazon. I can’t believe one of my favorite companies would support immoral and illegal activities by selling books and magazines supporting and even EDUCATING people how to engage in inhumane activities.”
While some might say cockfighting and dogfighting books and videos can be found on other websites, so pulling them from Amazon isn’t going to reduce their sales, Amazon is probably the most well-known and one of the largest, if not the single largest e-commerce site. Pulling those materials from Amazon probably would reduce the public exposure they receive, and make them less available for purchasing. Currently if you Google the key words “cock fighting book,” the first two results are from Amazon.com. Google is clearly the top search engine in the English-speaking world, and removing the entries on Amazon would mean they would also no longer show up in Google search results.
So, would you consider boycotting an e-commerce website if you know they sell materials linked to illegal and inhumane activities?
